The world-changing Climate Change Act
The UK’s Climate Change Act 2008 is a pioneering legislation that legally commits the government to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by at least 100% of 1990 levels (Net Zero) by 2050.This Act mandates the setting of legally binding carbon budgets, each spanning five years, to serve as interim targets towards the 2050 goal.
